Abstract

Objective To research the expression of Caspase-3 in perifocal tissue of intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH) and investigate the association between Caspase-3 and neuron apoptosis in perifocal tissue of ICH.Methods Sixty wistar rats were randomly divided into ICH group(n=30) and sham operated group(n=30).ICH rat models were prepared with injection of autologous blood into the right caudate nucleus. Each group was randomly divided into 5 various stages: 6 h,12 h,24 h,48 h and 96 h.The expression of Caspase-3 was measured with immunohistochemistry method.Apoptosis was characterized by terminal deoxynucleotide transferase mediated uridine 5-triphosphate-biotin nick end-labeling(TUNEL) staining. Results Protein expression of Caspase-3 and neuron apoptosis of ICH group was higher than sham operated group(P0.01).The association between Caspase-3 and neuron apoptosis in perifocal tissue of ICH was positively relative(P0.05).Conclusion Caspase-3 and apoptosis are involved in pathophysiologic process of ICH.
