Abstract

It is the foundation of sustainable forest management and a key of sustainable forest management study to set up an index system of sustainable management for forest management unit. By analyzing and summarizing the research core——index system of forestry sustainable development and forest sustainable management at home and abroad, combining it with the management condition,the target method and the method of expert consultant have been used to set up an index system of sustainable management for forest farm, which contains 30 indicators at 4 levels, and put forward 30 monitoring factors of the indicators and their determinable methods. Then the current condition of Gaofeng Forest Farm on Southwestern China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has been appraised with the index system. The result shows that the comprehensive index is 0 834. The tendency of the management is sustainable. The experimental result is suitable with the forest farm,and it shows that the index system is reasonable and practicable.
