The clinical effects of NiTiflex K file combined with ProTaper file in the preparation of small calcified and/or curved root canals

Objective: To study the feasibilty of NiTiflex K file combined with ProTaper file in the preparation of small,calcified and/or curved root canals.Methods: A total of 85 patients with 85 posterior teeth with small calcified and/or curved root canals received initial endodontic treatment by a gradual descending order of tapered step-down mode in root canal preparation using NiTiflex K file combined with ProTaper file.The effects were clinically evaluated.Results: Except one root canal was lateral perforated for improper dredging,the remaining 84 posterior teeth demonstrated good root canal shape without transportation,ledge or instrument separation.The postoperative pain was light in all cases.Conclusion: The mode of NiTiflex K file combined with ProTaper file is feasible in the treatment of small calcified and/or curved root canals.
