Abstract
Using finite element software ABAQUS,the author analyzes a 'strong beam-weak column' RC frame structure in Dujiangyan through 3D elastic-plastic time history simulation. The frame was built in Mianzhu and suffered mild earthquake damage. The seismic fortification level is 7 degree. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of column-end moment magnification factor in areas with seismic fortification level of 7 degree. Results show that few RC frames designed according to current codes can achieve 'strong column-weak beam' yield mechanism;in calculating the negative moment bearing capacity of the beam end,the contribution of rebar in concrete plate should be considered;irregular filled walls may lead to weak story of frames;the plate model and wall model should be adopted to perform elastic-plastic analysis under rare earthquakes.
