Abstract

Basing on the theory of marginal utility, this paper not only differentiate the total utility and the marginal utility, but also introduce the concepts of consumer surplus, marginal productivity and scarcity.Meanwhile, the paper pose that it is wrong, both theoretically and practically,to use the total utility instead of the marginal utility to measure the forest environmental value and it points that this kind of mistake will exaggerate the measured result.
