Abstract

Based on previous experimental data,the effects of salt stress on Phragmites australis and Typha latifola with irrigation water salinity of zero,1.50%,3.00% were studied.The results showed that the two species held the same water potential with salinity of zero.As salinity rising,water potential decreased,and for Phragmites australis it decreased more obviously,while proline and MDA in both species raised.Super-oxide anion production rate was roughly same with salinity of zero and 1.50%.The active oxygen content was low in 1.50%.The content of indicator which was studied in Phragmites australis are high.The conclusion can be made that Phragmites australis has higher salt-tolerance than Typha latifola
