Investigation on Medical Plant Resources of Rubiaceae in the Eastern Region of Guangdong

Objective: To understand the medical plant resources of Rubiaceae in the Eastern Region of Guangdong, and put forward some proposals on the sustainable utilization for it. Method: Based on literature survey and field survey. Results: In this region, there are 58 kinds(including variety) of Rubiaceae medical plants that belong to 24 genera are recorded. The species, growth environment, medicinal efficacy and utilization value of medical plant resources were introduced. Conclusion: Eastern Region of Guangdong is very rich in medical plant resources of Rubiaceae, when developing the wild medical plant resources must be stick to the principle of the combination of sustainable utilization and protection.
