Abstract

The characteristics of resistance and the cleaning recoverability of UF membrane in processing effluent from the waste water treatment station was studied. The experiment of pretreatment prior to the UF process was conducted. The results show that MFGAC as a pretreatment for UF can reduce resistance during membrane filtration. The cleaning effect of membrane is good after the UF membrane is submerged into solution which contained 500 mg/L sodium hypochlorite; Coagulation can remove colloid matters , suspended solids and remove partly dissolved organic matters. Coagulation as a pretreatment for UF can reduce resistance during membrane filtration greatly and has good cleaning effect of membrane after the UF membrane is submerged into solution which contained 500 mg/L sodium hypochlorite. Coagulation is a practical technology in comparison with MFGAC. The quality of the produced UF filtrate reaches the standard of GBJXX—2001.
