Observation on Symptomatic Effect by Umbilical Moxibustion with Medicine in Patients with Severe Primary Dysmenorrhea

Objective: To observe the symptomatic effect by umbilical moxibustion with medicine in patients with severe primary dysmenorrhea. Methods: Thirty- six cases of severe primary dysmenorrhea patients were randomly assigned to the treatment group( 19cases) with umbilical moxibustion and medicine and the control group( 17cases) with umbilical moxibustion with amylon. The observable symptom scores before and after the treatment was recorded to compare the difference between the two groups. Results: The menstrual syndrome scores of the two groups were significantly lower than that before treatment. There was a significant difference between the two groups. Conclusion: The umbilical moxibustion with medicine is better than umbilical moxibustion with amylon when treating severe primary dysmenorrhea.
