Abstract

The influence of twelve main agronomic characters on yield of 40 new varieties and CK in the corn regional test in Sichuan in 2005 was studied with the analysis of grey correlation degree. The results showed that the magnitude on effects of vary characters on the yield in turn was grain weight per plant, plant height, ear height, kernel rate, ear length, degree of adaptability, rows per ear,100-kernel weight, lodging resistance,CV,growing period and kernel per row.It indicated that in the course of breeding,we should pay attention to the selection of grain weight per plant, kernel rate, degree of adaptability, ear length, rows per ear with suitable plant height and ear height, and shouldn't ignore the selection of 100-kernel weight and lodging resistance.
