Abstract
Automotive wiring harnesses become more and more complicated with the increasing number of electrical devices.A invariant wiring harness has been developed by unifying electrical interfaces, standardizing connectors, and normalizing the harness topology. The invariant harness system includes a control area network(CAN) harness,a local interconnect network(LIN) harness and an electrical power harness.A 3-D layout design method is also presented.Utilization of the harness in a bus design show that the universal wiring harness is easily implemented and cost efficient.
