Self-reflection stems from both moral emotions or moral ideals and moral wisdom. Therefore, for one to reflect on oneself regularly and profoundly,on one hand,he has to improve his understanding of morality and moral wisdom and establish moral beliefs like Virtues are the necessary conditions for one to obtain happiness. On the other hand, one has to extend and strengthen the moral desire of becoming a man of virtue, and the moral emotion and moral ideal of being determined to become a gentleman,a benevolent man and even a saint.
