On the Contemporary Aesthetic Education in China

In the past fifty years since the founding of the People's Republic of China,the aesthetic education underwent a hard and eventful process.The summary of the experiences offers the following ideas.First,the aesthetic education is closely connected with the progress of society and civilization.Second,only when examination-orientated education has given way to quality-orientated education can aesthetic education boast of its own status and roles.Thirdly,the publicizing of aesthetic education must be strengthened greatly.Fourth,aesthetic education must contribute to the cultivation and elevation of the quality of the people.The contemporary aesthetic education of China has entered into a new phase,but there still exist some problems.Only when the essence of aesthetic education is realized and probed further in theory and awareness can its healthy development be promoted and its being brought onto the right track be ensured.
