Abstract

Contrary to view that credits the doctrine of king Ling solely to Zhong Rong in history of Chinese Literary criticism, author of this paper believes that the doctrine of Xing Ling', took shape and got to be an ideological trend throughout Southem Dynasty. having inherited tradition of the doctrine of Yuan Qing of past dynasties, the doctrine of Xin Ling had, under impact of Buddhism doctrine of kin Xing, gone beyond inflexible narration of normal worldly sentiment and turned to exploration of heart and spiritual world. The landscape poems of Southern Dynasty strongly reflecfed fresh advancement of theory and opened up new aesthetic domain of poetry characterized by a pursuit of stylistic charm and appeal.
