Abstract
The chemiluminescence behavior of the oxidation reaction of hydroquinone (HQN) by potassium permanganate was studied under the condition of flow-injection. The intensity of chemiluminescence was found to be in linear relationship with the concentration of hydroquinone in the range of 2.0×10 -7 to 8.0×10 -5 g·ml -1 . The precision was tested at the concentration level of 4.0×10 -6 g·ml -1 for 11 determinations and the value of RSD obtained was 1.5%. This proposed method has been used satisfactorily in the determination of hydroquinone in waste water.
