Abstract
The theory and method of geostatistics were used to characterize the spatial distribution of water quality parameters of Taihu Lake. The result showed that variability of spatial structure is revealed in the water quality parameters of Taihu Lake and each parameter shows the effect of nugget. Interpolation with ordinary kriging was applied to identify the different levels of water pollution, which gives more distinguishable information about the water quality. Several conclusions were instructive to the environmental management in Taihu Lake.
