Abstract
Objective To know the effects of parents' nutrition knowledge and attitude on children's diet behaviors, and to provide basis for nutritional education. Methods A questionnaire survey on nutritional knowledge, attitude, behavior and nutrition status was conducted among 300 school-aged children and their parents in Shenzhen. Results Most of the parents lacked nutritional knowledge and most of the children had incorrect diet habits, such as skipping breakfast, snack intakes, foods partial, eating too fast and unreasonable diet arrangement. Conclusion The nutrition knowledge and attitude of parents affects children's diet behaviors and food consumptions. It is necessary and practicable to carry out nutrition education among the parents and children.
