Abstract

As a national major grain-producing province, the grain yield in Inner Mongolia has been an outstanding problem in agricultural production.Based on the data of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region statistical almanac in 2001-2010 years and related survey material, the correlation and characteristics of temporal and spatial distribution among grain yield, cultivated area, effective irrigated area, population and GDP in 101 counties of the 12 cities in Inner Mongolia are analyzed in this paper. The results show that the relativity between grain yield and cultivated area is the largest and the correlation coefficient is 0.722,the next is effective irrigation area and population. In the past decade, the grain yield has been upward trend and the increasing extent is more than 40%.The grain yield of eastern part is better than that of central and western regions in Inner Mongolia. The grain yield of irrigation district is better than that of rain fed agricultural areas. In order to stabilize and increase production,it is more necessary to continue to strengthen investment in agricultural science and technology to protect national food security.
