Abstract
Field experiments with wheat leaf rust (caused by Puccinia recondita f. sp. tritici) and wheat powdery mildew (caused by Blumeria graminis) indicated that kresoxim-methyl 30% SC provides relatively good control of these diseases. Kresoxim-methyl is a new, highly effective, broadspectrum fungicide with low residual and good safety. Application at 225 to 315 ml/ha in the early stages of disease development, with two consecutive treatments, provided control of wheat leaf rust and powdery mildew averaging 85 and 90%, respectively. Control efficacy was significantly greater than that provided by common fungicides currently on the market.
