Abstract
This paper described the general situation of Xiaobeiganliu of the Yellow River,analyzed the factors that affected the river regime changes in the reaches,such as incoming water and sediment,river erosion and deposition,natural nodal points,river training works,river-related structures,Sanmenxia Reservoir operation,etc.,considered that the ideology for the harnessing of the Yellow River Xiaobeiganliu should be straightening up the river regime,desilting for sand detention and ensuring flood control safety,and the paper also presented the corresponding harnessing measures: 1)perfect the river training works system to improve river regime control ability;2)continue to carry out warping;3)make full use of spring flood to lower Tongguan elevation by scouring;4)establish effective observing means to accumulate basic data for river harnessing.
