Abstract
Objective To explore basic situation of social anxiety and relationship between social support and social anxiety.Methods By anonymous questionnaires,357 students were collected as our sample.Anonymous questionnaires included Social Phobia Inventory(SPIN),Social Avoidance and Distress Scale(SAD),Perception of Social Support Scale(PSSS) and Social Support Rating Scale.Results The rate of social anxiety among our sample was 8.1%(in male 6.63%,in female 9.42%);students of science and technology school had the highest rate of social anxiety(14.29%),while those from medical school the lowest(4.55%);It was shown that statistically social anxiety was not significally associated with gender and the like factors by χ2 test.Social support was negatively associated pocial anxiety by t test and Logistic regression.Conclusions Social anxiety is influenced by social support,and students should be helped to establish a social support system and take full advantage of it.
