Abstract
Altera's Nios II embedded processor is the 32-bit RISC soft core processor to be developed specially for programmable logic. The architecture of Nios II and it's application to an embedded brushless DC motor control system was presented, which demonstrates the design flow of Nios II. The control system, which is a System on a Programmable Chip(SOPC), makes the best of high integration, flexibility and fast computation of Nios II. The system is flexible, reliable and efficient; moreover, it's architecture is compact. This presented system has been successfully applied in dextrous robot hand.
