Abstract
Some important factors to influence the tensile strength and ultimate elongation of polyurethane elastomer based on hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB), including curing parameter (r value), diisocyanates type, chain extender type and so on. Several methods and their progress of improving the mechanical properties of HTPB based elastomers were compared. And it is proposed that the synthesis of HTPB liquid rubbers with different functionality and narrow molecular weight distribution will be the research field of preparing the HTPB based elastomers with high tensile strength and high elongation.
