Abstract
Objective To investigate the protective effects of Compound KangXianruangan(CK) on liver injury in mice induced by concanavalin A(Con A).Methods Seventy-two NIH mice were randomly divided into 6 groups each consisted of 12 mice:normal control group(group A),model group(group B),high dosage group of CK(20.0g/kg,group C),middle dosage group of CK(10.0g/kg,group D),low dosage group of CK(5.0g/kg,group E),and bifendate group(150.0mg/kg,group F).Excepts those in group A,mice in other groups were injected with Con A(dose of 20mg/kg) via the tail vein on the first day of experiment.Group C,Group D,Group E,and Group F were given with drugs by gastric perfusion.All the drugs were given once daily for 3 succcecutive days.At the last time,4 hourse after administration of the drug,the mice were injected with Con A once again at the same dosage.The level of aminotransferase(ALT) activity,interferon-gamma(IFN-γ) and tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α)content were determined 8th hour after administration of Con A.Histopathological examination was also performed for liver tissue.Results The levels of ALT activity,IFN-γ and TNF-α content in group C,D and E were obviously lower than that of group B(P0.01),hepatic histopathological change were alleviated in 3 groups of CK.Conclusion CK is relatively effecive in protecting the liver injury in mice induced by Con A by suppressing the activation of the T-lymphocytes and reducing the release of IFN-γ and TNF-α.
