Abstract
Reverse Engineering is an important research area in CAD/CAM,and widely used in the field of product form design related to Industrial design.Complicated surface reconstruction based on scattered points is one of the key problems.Currently, surface is usually reconstructed by dividing point cloud data into small regions, each of which can be fitted into patch, then stitching them to form an integrated surface model. It based on the analysis of various classical methods of surface reconstrution, suggesting a new approach following steps of point cloud—curve—surface,in order to finish the whole reconstrution process and obtain CAD modles.Based on a example of mouse surface reconstruction, the steps is verified reliable.
