Abstract
Polystyrene sulfonic acid(PSSA) doped water-based polyaniline(PANI)/montmorillonite(MMT) clay composites were synthesized by intercalation polymerization and characterized by X-ray(diffraction)(XRD),transmission electron microscope(TEM),differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).The temperature-dependence of DC conductivity [σ_(DC)(T)] of the composites were measured. The results show that the exfoliated silicate nanolayers of MMT are disperse in the polyaniline matrix and against the over doping effectively. The MMT nanolayers enhanced the thermal stability of the composite and results in good stability of σ_(DC)(T) on temperature.
