Abstract

UASB reactor was used to do the treatment of xylitol production wastewater. After pre-treatment of the wastewater, the intermittent flow was controlled by control cabinet. The results revealed that the removal of organic pollutants remained stable at 76%~88% when COD in the influent was about 3 000~5 000 mg/L and COD load volume was about 2.70~4.64 kg/(m3·d).With an aerobic treatment of the anaerobic effluent, the COD could reach 100 mg/L.
