Application of conventional logging technique in the development wells in Jidong Oilfield

Jidong Oilfield locates in Nanbao Sag of Huangye Depression in Bohaiwan Basin with a complex structure. Thick tertiary continental sandstone formation deposits in the sag, with a rich oil and gas resource. But the formations vary greatly in lithology with poor lateral comparative property. It is difficult for geological logging, especially conventional logging to discover oil and gas shows. This paper introduces the geologic setting of Jidong Oilfield, analyzes the characteristics of oil and gas shows, and proposes attentions for conventional logging and identification method for oil and gas shows.
