Abstract
Aprostocetus fukutai is one of the important egg parasitoids of Apriona germari,the stem borer of many species of trees.The volatiles from Mulberry branch infested by A.germari play the key role in the host habitat location process of the wasp.In this paper,the electrophysiological responses of A.fukutai to 8 volatile chemicals at different concentrations from Mulberry branch were measured by electroantennography(EAG).The results showed that these chemicals all elicited electrophysiological responses of the wasp,which became stronger as the volatile concentration increasing.The taxis behavior of the wasp to the volatiles at different concentrations was also assayed by Y-tube olfactometer.Either myrcene or linalool at the concentration of 0.01% or Z-hexenyl acetate at 1% attracted the wasp significantly,which plays the important role in revealing the chemical nature of host habitat location for A.fukutai.
