Abstract

The 1893 Sea War between China and Japan impelled the tide of the Chinese youngsters to go to study in Japan, the emancipation of women initiated the young women to study abroad, the running of women schools needed female masters to teach the new subjects, the Qing Dynasty government advocated that women should study abroad, and the Japanese government and the public well received Chinese women to study in Japan. All these formed the upsurge of the Chinese women going to study in Japan.
