Abstract

A novel technique for enzyme immobilization by electrospinning poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA)and glucose oxidase(GOD)on the surface of the Au electrode for amperometric biosensor was presented. The elec- trospun nanofibers were used as enzyme immobilization material to improve the performance of the amperometrie enzyme electrode owing to high specific surface and porous structure.Infrared spectroscopy,ultraviolet-visible spectrum and scanning electronic microscope of the membranes showed that GOD had been immobilized inside the electrospun PVA membranes.Cyclic voltammetry measurement demonstrated that the immobilized GOD re- mained active inside the electrospun PVA fibrous membranes, and the electrochemistry response performance of the eleetrospun fibrous enzyme membrane was better than that of the casting enzyme membrane.Au nanoparti- cles were introduced inside the electrospun membranes as the electron medium to enhance the catalytic activity of the immobilized enzyme.
