Abstract

Phenotypic characteristics of Phytophthora infestans population,such as mating type,physiological race and metalaxyl-sensitivity were reviewed.The distribution of A2 mating type,physiological race structure and the frequency of resistant isolate to metalaxyl in different countries were described.Research results about the genotype and genetic diversity of P.infestans with the molecular markers including mtDNA fingerprint,RFLP,RAPD,AFLP and SSR were discussed.The research focus of potato late blight pathogen in China was suggested.
