A Brief Study of Chinese Ancient Myths and Legends

The origin and definition of Chinese ancient myths and legends are studied briefly in this paper.On the basis of a summary of this research,Chinese ancient myths and legends are held as a precious spiritual fossils left by our forefathers,which have the power of arousing the deepest memories and images of our nation,supplying unexpected inspirations to writers and offering unexhausted intellectual resources in creating new forms of culture and art.The conclusion is Chinese ancient myths and legends are the headstream of Chinese core culture and spiritual homestead of Chinese people.
