Abstract

Firstly,the p-tert-butyl calix[4] arene was synthesized by one-step reaction of p-tert-phenol with formaldehyde.Then,a new compound,p-tert-butyl-25,27-dihydroxy-26,28-di(hydroxyethoxy) calix[4] arene,was obtained by the reaction of p-tert-butyl calix[4] arene with iodoethanol.The structure of the new compound was characterized with ~1H NMR,~(13)C NMR,IR,MS and element analysis.
