Realization and comparison of EPG in DTV and IPTV

EPG is an important service in the digital television and IPTV.This paper briefly introduces the composition of EPG system and its realization methods in the digital TV and IPTV.In digital TV,people always use local application method to design EPG system.Set-To-Box analyzes all EPG data and sends them to display on TV.In IPTV,people use interactive method to design it,in which Set-To-Box gets EPG information in HTML files from EPG server.Comparing the two methods,the latter one is highly interactive and fully reflects the advantages of IPTV.
