Abstract
Cryptosporidia are intracellular extracytoplasmatic protozoa with a monoxenous life cycle. They cause a pronounced diarrheal disease and may be life-threatening to humans and animals resulting in considerable economic losses in livestock. The establishment of an animal model with Cryptosporidium can help to find effective measures for treatment and control of cryptosporidiosis. This article reviewed on the isolation and purification of oocysts, the choice of laboratory animals, animal model approach and impact factors etc.In the present review, the development of infective animal model was introduced, and the prospects were ananlyzed.
