Abstract
Objective To observe the effects of electroacupuncture on levels of superoxide dismutase(SOD) and interleukin(IL)-1β in rat brain with cerebral ischemia-reperfusion(I-R) injury under propofol or chloral hydrate anesthesia. Methods I-R rat model was established with four-vessel oclusion method.Forty male SD rats were randomized into groups of A(I-R control),B(I-R plus electroacupuncture) and C(sham operated). The SOD and IL-1β contents in the brain were measured at 24h during reperfusion. Results SOD levels in the brain were higher, while IL-1β levels were lower,in group B than those in groups of C and A at 24h during reperfusion.ConclusionElectroacupuncture combined with propofol anesthesia can attenuate the cerebral injury in rats underwent I-R.
