Abstract
Mine tailings give rise to acid drainage and heavy metals which pollute ground water, surface water and dest ecological environment. Environmental problem caused by mine tailings is the result of reactions among water, gas minerals under surface condition. Mineralogical study discloses the law of decomposition and formation of minerals, mechanism and factors of reactions among water, gas and minerals, the law of acid drainage and migration of he metals in mine tailings. Mineralogical study on mine tailings provides basic data and new idea for the evaluation endangered environment and prevention from the pollution of mine tailings.
