Abstract
Objectives To study the expression of BRCA1 gene mRNA in ovarian epithelial cancer and its relation with clinical pathological parameters.Methods The expression of mRNA of BRCA1 was detected in 50 ovarian cancers by means of in situ hybridization method.Results BRCA1 mRNA positive expression rates were 24.0%, 81.8%, 100% in ovarian cancers,benign tumors and normal ovary tissues,separately.Positive rate was lower significantly in ovarian cancers than that in the two latters.In addition,the level of BRCA1 expression decreased with pathological grade increasing;BRCA1 expression reduced in cancers with pelvic lymph node metastasis.Conclusions Down-regulation of BRCA1 transcription level probably relates to the occurrence and progression of ovarian epithelial cancer,and it may imply the poor prognosis.
