Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effectiveness of the mandibular Protraction appliance in the treatment of class Ⅱ malocclusion. Methods:Thirteen class Ⅱ patients (aged 10~13 years, male 6,femal 7) with mandible retrusion and slight maxillary protrusion were included.Radiographs of the left hand and wrist showed the patients were at the pubertal or pre pubertal stage. All the patients were treated with the mandibular protraction appliance.Resalts:The duration of treatment was 5.6 months on average.SNB increased,ANB decreased,ANS-Me and Go-Co increased.Which showed sygnificant difference by statistical analysis. Conclusions:The obvious skeletal change can be achieved with the mandibular protraction applicance treatment in early class Ⅱ malocclusion.
