Abstract
Objetive To observe the value of emergency endoscopic hemostasis in treatment of upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage. Methods Sixty-two patients of upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage were collected, and had the emergency endoscopic hemostasis. The effect of hemostasis and difference of the two methods frequently-used in endoscopic hemostasis were analyzed. Results One patient had turned to emergency surgery because of invalid stop bleeding. The other sixty-one patients were successful cured by endoscopy hemostasis. Three GIST patients were sent to surgery after stopping bleeding which gained more precious time to operate. Conclusion Emergency endoscopy hemostasis has a high success rate and positive effect. It can reduce surgical risk and save medical expenses in the meanwhile. It is the first choice in treatment of upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage.
