The relationship between serum hs-CRP and the severity of coronary artery stenosis

Objective To assess the corrlation between serum hs-CRP and the severity of coronary artery stenosis.Methods A study of 156 patients with or without coronary heart disease was performed.Coronary artery angiography was done for all the subjects.According to the severity of coronary artery stenosis,Leaman coronary scoring system was derived.The serum content of hs-CRP was measured.With the multiple analysis method to study the relationship between serum hs-CRP and the severity of coronary artery stenosis.Results With multiple logistic regression analysis,smoking,diabets,triglyceride,low-density lipoprotein and hs-CRP were independently associated with the severity of coronary heart disease,OR 95%and CI of hs-CRP is 10.09(2.70-37.74).Gender,age did not have significant independently associated with the severity of coronary heart disease.With stepwise multiple regression analysis,age,smoking,lipoprotein(a),low density cholesterol and hs-CRP showed significant independent association with the severity of coronary heart diseaset.hs-CRP(t=2.22,P0.05).Conclusion CRP is one of the independent factor of the coronary heart disease.There is a close relationship between the serum hs-CRP and the severity of coronary heart disease.
