Abstract
Effects of different potassium levels on amount of potassium absorption and potassium utilization index of maize seedling stage were studied by water culture and pot experiments on soil of low potassium fertility. The best screening index, stage and potassium level were discussed. The results showed that potassium utilization index was better than the amount of K absorbed as the screening index. The 0.1 mmol/L K+concentration of the medium was the suitable potassium level at six-leave stage of the plant. We initially confirmed that Jidan27 was more tolerant to low-K stress than others, and Xianyu335 was the relative stress-sensitive species.
