Abstract

Objective To evaluate the value of ureteroscopy for the diagnosis and treatment of renal colic.Methods A total of 80 cases of renal colic were diagnosed and treated by ureteroscopy.A double-J catheter was left in some patients after ureteroscopy.Results Successful removal of stones,lithoclasty and ESWL were achieved in 20,43 and 5 cases,respectively.Correlative etiological factors were found in 12 patients by ureteroscopy.No complications occurred.Conclusion Ureteroscopy is an easy,safe and effective method for the diagnosis and treatment of renal colic.
