The Species and Distribution of Endophytic Fungi in Tea Trees

The species and distribution of endophytic fungi in tea trees were studied in southern Henan province. The result showed that the species of endophytic fungi in tea trees was abundant in this area, and a total of 18 species of 15 genera in 7 families were found. Among them, Colletotrichum sp.,Pestalotiopsis sp.1,Phomopsis sp.and Macrophoma sp.1 were the predominant fungi.The fungi were composed of Ascomycetes and imperfect fungi, but on Zygomycetes and Basidiomycetes were found. The community of endophytic fungi in tea plants had close relation to the tea plantation environment, and there were different endophytic fungi in different tea organs. There were more endophytic fungi in tea leaves than in other organs and no endophytic fungi was found in seeds. Moreover, the species of endophytic fungi was also different in different tissues of the same organ.
