Abstract
Characteristics of bauxite flotation tailings were investigated by using X-ray powder diffraction,adsorption and desorption isotherms of N2,scanning electron microscope,and inductively coupled plasma spectrum method.Some characteristics attracting little attention were revealed.Grained dissemination of iron minerals,change of specific surface area with calcinations temperature,effect of calcinations on reactivity for main minerals in bauxite flotation tailings and PO43-adsorption capacity for each main mineral were studied.These characteristics are expected to be useful in wastewater treatment or whitening bauxite flotation tailings.
