A Comment on the Reign of Emperor Xiaozong of the Song Dynasty

Comparatively speaking, Emperor Xiaozong was a successful emperor in the Southern Song Dynasty. During his early and mid periods, a series of successful policies were carried on. This led to the stability of the society and the development of the economy, and made his reign the top of the Song dynasty. But Emperor Xiaozong had some problems on making a good use of human resources, especially during his later time, conservative and despondent trends could be seen obviously.
