Research on local governance: western experience and local path

The contemporary thought and practice of local governance,originating from the Britain in the early and mid-1980s,gradually become an important political and administrative reform direction in developed countries.The local goverance has become the important constituent in the governance thought and multi-layer governance structure.The west local governance thought based on the polycentric governance thought,collective action thought,social capital thought,consultative democracy thought,communitarianis and the third-road thought.In recent years in the research on the local governance,the Chinese scholars take the inter-government relationship governance as the core research and take the rural governance,community governance and NGO governance as the concrete narration object.In China,the research on the local governance will develop in such areas as the theory accumulation and the local governance research's standardization,question consciousness and the local governance research’s Chinese,the depth investigation and the local governance research'positivism.
