Morphology and Distribution Law of Moso Bamboo Vascular Bundles

Through the analysis of the scanning images of the cross section of bamboo culm and single vascular bundles,a statistical method is adopted to discuss the tangential and radial distribution law of bamboo vascular bundle content in the cross section is discussed. The research result indicates that there are two types of bamboo vascular bundles in the bamboo cross section: half-open and open and that vascular bundle shows orderly uneven distribution close to the bamboo outer skin and disorderly even distribution close to the bamboo inner skin,with the content of vascular bundle showing a downward wave-shaped trend in radial direction of bamboo culm and an enven wave shape in the tangential direction of bamboo culm.
