Abstract
Objective The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of thoracoscopic sympathectomies for primary palmar,axillary and feet hyperhidrosis.Methods From January 2003 to October 2003,40 thoracoscopic sympathectomies were performed.There were 21 males and 19 females with a mean age of 23.8 years(from 10 to 53 years).The second to fourth thoracic sympathetic chain were destroyed by electrocautery.Results The symptoms disappeared completely in all patients immediately after the operation.In all 40 patients had a satisfactory results,without recurrence of palmar,axillary and feet hyperhidrosis.Conclusion Thracoscopic sympathectomy is the most effective and minimally invasive treatment for palmar,axillaryt and fee hyperhidrosis.
